The Version of Me I Had to Leave Behind

There was a time when I thought growing up meant becoming stronger. I thought I would slowly learn how to handle everything, how to stop caring about what people say, how to stop getting hurt, and how to keep moving no matter what happens. But I was wrong. Sometimes growing up doesn’t make you stronger in the way you imagined. Sometimes, it simply teaches you which parts of yourself you can no longer carry. There was an older version of me who trusted people easily. He believed that if he cared enough, others would care the same way. He believed that if he stayed honest, people would always be honest with him. He gave second chances even when the first one had already hurt. I don’t hate that version of me. Actually, I miss him sometimes. He was softer. He laughed more easily. He believed in people without asking too many questions. He didn’t think twice before giving someone a piece of his heart. Then life happened. Some people left. Some stayed, but changed. Some me...

The Stories We Carry Inside Us

Every person carries a story. Some stories are told loudly. They become conversations, photographs, memories shared with friends. But some stories remain quiet. They live inside the moments we never talk about—the goodbye we never expected, the person we could not forget, the words we wished we had said, and the memories that somehow refuse to disappear. Sometimes, we move forward with our lives while a small part of us remains somewhere in the past. A familiar song can bring it back. A particular place can bring it back. Even a simple smell can suddenly open a door to a memory we thought we had buried. Perhaps that is why memories are so powerful. We don’t simply remember moments. Sometimes, moments remember us. A memory can change the way we see someone. It can make us miss a person who is no longer part of our life. It can remind us of who we were before everything changed. And perhaps the most difficult memories are not always the painful ones. Sometimes, the har...

Why Some Memories Never Die

Some memories fade with time. Faces become difficult to remember. Voices become distant. Places that once felt familiar slowly become strangers. But there are some memories that refuse to disappear. A particular smile. A conversation we wish we could have again. A moment we didn’t realize was important until it was already gone. Sometimes, we don’t remember a moment because it was perfect. We remember it because it changed us. Time moves forward, but memory doesn’t always follow the same direction. A forgotten moment can suddenly return years later through a song, a photograph, a familiar place, or even a dream. And perhaps that’s what makes memories so powerful. They don’t simply remind us of the past. Sometimes, they change the way we see the present. What if one memory could reveal a truth we had spent years trying to forget? What if the past wasn’t really finished with us? Maybe some memories never die because they still have something left to tell us. ๐Ÿ“– Abou...

Why I Started Writing Stories

I don’t remember the exact moment when I decided that I wanted to become a writer. Maybe it happened much earlier than I realized. I have always had thoughts that stayed in my head for too long. Little moments, strange ideas, questions about people, memories, and the things we sometimes feel but never say out loud. Sometimes, I would imagine a different ending to a situation. Sometimes, I would create a whole story in my mind from just one small thought. And slowly, I started writing those thoughts down. Writing became more than just putting words on a page. It became a quiet place for me. A place where I could say things that were difficult to say in real life. A place where emotions could become characters, memories could become scenes, and simple thoughts could turn into entire worlds. I think that’s what I love most about stories. A story can make you feel close to someone you’ve never met. It can remind you of something you thought you had forgotten. And sometimes, a...
